You are driving, and sometimes walking, along the shore of a glassy lake, alkaline type, which hosts one of the largest concentrtes concentation of birds : flamingoes, lesser and greater, pelicans, storks and so on.
But the reserve is also a rhino sanctuary, and it is frequent to spot one with its cub, grazing the grass. These are white rhinos, placid, not like the black one, more difficult to see, because this guy is far more shy !! There are some more : lions, often in the trees, waterbucks, Rothschild giraffes with their white boots, impalas by dozens, buffaloes, jackals, black colobus monkeys, and if it is your lucky day, the leopard lying on an acacia branch, waiting till the end of the day to go hunting.
Around you, steep hills covered with euphorbia trees give a special touch contrasting with the water and the pink of the flamingoes.
